YWCA Princeton is currently seeking to hire a Financial Controller to join the Finance Team. The Controller is a key member of the Senior Management Team. The Controller works under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Controller works very closely with the Finance Associate to carry out the YWCA Princeton's (YWCA) mission with a strong focus on the monthly closing process, the annual budget, and the annual audit.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform the monthly close and provide financial reports internally/externally in accurate and timely manner
- Support the Finance Associate with monthly processes such as A/R, A/P, expense reimbursement and other duties as assigned.
- Lead and manage the annual budget process.
- Oversee all financial, program and grant accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout grant period.
- Manage the revenue cycle and record accounts receivables and billings, including enhancing process to optimize cash flow.
- Support the annual audit and interact with the auditors.
- Support the CFO in engaging the Board's Finance Committee.
- Coordinate annual audit and tax filings with external audit team.
- Responsible for record retention and compliance of agency accounting files
- Complete the general ledger account reconciliations and resolve items on a timely basis.
- Assist with the preparation of the Board Committee finance reports as needed.
Skills, Requirements, and Leadership Behaviors
- A Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
- 7 years of experience in non-profit accounting or similar accounting experience.
