The office of the Vice President, University Advancement at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Foundation and University Advancement Business Specialist. The anticipated start date is September 2, 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Foundation and University Advancement Business Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of University Advancement. The primary duty of this position is to support the day-to-day operations of the MSU Foundation and Vice President’s office. Tasks are performed independently and carried out to completion, regularly anticipating and taking initiative to manage upcoming needs. The Business Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of all unit programs and general university events in order to respond to inquiries based upon administrative policy. The individual must exercise good judgment and decision-making, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and practice confidentiality. Serves as the MSU Foundation Board Secretary. Coordinates all aspects of Foundation board meetings. Works with the Foundation finance and accounting staff, assists with operational budget administration.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree. Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office products, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Expert user of Microsoft office and office management experience.

Organizational Relationships
Foundation and University Advancement Business Specialist reports to the Vice President of University Advancement. This position maintains a close working relationship with the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Development and the MSU Foundation Director of Finance. Interacts with other campus personnel, students, alumni, and other external agencies. Interacts with the Office of Human Resources and Financial Aid as needed for the employment of student workers, graduate assistants and full-part-time employees.

Working Conditions
Routine office environment with interruptions due to the frequency of visitors, students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Some pressure may be expected on the job depending on the number of visitors and calls and shifting deadlines and priorities. Due to special events organized by the department e.g. Homecoming, Gala, etc., some evening and/or weekend work may be required.
