Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as an Evening / Weekend Recreation Coordinator. This role requires a passion for sports, exceptional organization skills, and the ability to represent the city with professionalism and decorum. The ideal candidate will have experience in various sports, program development, and tournament scheduling. Working mainly with adult leagues / rentals and youth leagues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate recreational programs, including field supervision, equipment preparation, and interaction with referees and coaches.
• Develop and implement sports programs that cater to the interests and needs of the community, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for participants.
• Schedule and oversee tournaments and sporting events, coordinating with teams, officials, and facility staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Represent the city with decorum and professionalism, fostering public confidence in its officials and employees.
• Assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of referees.
• Collaborate with other city departments, community organizations, and external partners to promote recreational opportunities, and enhance public engagement.
• Keeping the facility clean and organized.
• Handling conflict with Adult sports leagues and rentals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in basic web design and social media is preferred but not required
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational , interpersonal, and multitasking abilities
• Knowledge of soccer and sports management practices is a plus
• Pursing a degree in Recreation management or Sports management is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and move equipment / nets as needed

Work Hours:

• Although the schedule can be flexible, the majority of work hours will occur during evenings till midnight, with some weekends and holidays required based on event and facility needs. Majority of this job will be at our front desk at the Hansen Sports Complex
