Pryes Brewing Company is hiring full-time floor supervisors to join our hospitality team. Experience preferred but not necessary as training is provided. Our supervisor team is cross-trained on front and back-of-house management, and this position will focus on kitchen supervision. Starting at $22 an hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- monitoring the guest experience and the flow of the taproom including table touching, monitoring the pace of table turnover, guest arrival, guest departure and pace of service.
- assisting the taproom management team in the training, supervising, and coaching Taproom Team Members
- supervising the taproom floor to ensure that all standard steps of service are performed with quality and consistency for every guest
- ensuring that checklists and opening/closing procedures are completed each shift
- communicating effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to the team.
- utilizing collaboration tools - including Slack and Google Workspace - daily
- observing performance, taking swift corrective action, and encouraging the growth of Taproom Team Members
- communicating with guests and employees using a positive voice - listening to understand requests, responding with appropriate actions, and providing accurate information.
- remaining calm and alert especially during busy or high-pressure situations
- maintaining a positive relationship with all departments and attending relevant meetings
- moving throughout the taproom to visually monitor and take action to ensure beer quality, food quality and service standards are met
- working closely with Taproom Managers in executing regular inventory of beer, glassware, compostable service items, and other necessary supplies
- ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment by calling for repair and training staff on proper use and care
- supporting the entire taproom operation including supervising other areas if necessary
- maintaining a clean and organized work area, including executing daily 5S activities
- ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, beer service, personnel, and safety.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- legal age to serve alcohol
- previous experience in bars/restaurants a plus
- attention to detail and quality in products, customer experience, and job performance
- professionalism as defined by the ability to make deliberate, intentional decisions, and a desire to grow your competence and skills
- a combination of creativity, exceptional execution, and personal character to set the standard of what the MN craft beer experience should be
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the functions of this job, an employee must walk, stand, or remain stationary during an entire shift. Taproom Team Members must be able to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe with the potential for slipping or tripping. Employees must frequently wash their hands and lift or move up to 170 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
