The Fundraising Events Director is part of the team who will lead Vivalon in doubling our fundraising revenue in 4 years. The main purpose and primary function of the Fundraising Events Director is to design, coordinate, manage, and lead the execution of innovative and inspiring Vivalon-hosted events, including large scale fundraising galas, educational events, speaker-series, community gatherings hosted at Vivalon, house parties and salons, and donor stewardship events. While the Fundraising Event Director position is housed within the Development/Marketing team, it will provide services for Vivalon as a whole, including the Programs and Transportation teams. As such, the Event Manager will also act as a cross-departmental liaison, with the goal of providing a cohesive outward facing event brand.
Requirements
- Experience with innovative and inspiring event concepts and designs which produce results.
- History of successful event leadership including ability to leverage funders, partners, venues, and vendors to achieve event and fundraising goals.
- Ability to cultivate and steward long-lasting relationships with sponsors which result in recurring and generous donations as well as referrals and introductions to potential new sponsors.
- Skilled at building detailed event operational plans and managing high-end event budgets.
- Ability to serve as a cross-divisional liaison and leader within the organization with internal teams in Programs, Transportation, Finance and Facilities.
- Demonstrated success at attracting high profile speakers, influencing the development of high interest / high relevance content for events.
- Ability to serve as a thought partner inside and outside the organization with knowledge of how to leverage this to further our mission and fundraising performance.
- 5 year's experience in fundraising, event planning and leadership experience within a non-profit environment.
- Skilled at public speaking and persuasive communication.
- Experience and success securing corporate sponsorships.
- Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).
- Understanding of donor cultivation and stewardship best practices.
- Ability to lead event staff and volunteers.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
