The Grant and Fundraising Events Manager (GFEM) is a key member of the finance department, responsible for overseeing the administration, compliance, and strategic management of awarded grants, while also leading the planning and execution of fundraising and community engagement events. Reporting to the Finance Director and collaborating closely with the Executive Director, this role plays a central part in driving the organization’s fund development efforts, including competitive grant-seeking, donor cultivation, and coordination of special events and campaigns. This position is required to be on site one day per week, with additional time on site during events as needed.


This position manages a diverse portfolio of funding sources—ranging from government grants to corporate and private foundations—and supports sponsorships, donor directed activities, major donors, and community fundraising initiatives.


Working collaboratively with internal departments, volunteers, and external stakeholders, the GFEM ensures that all grant-funded programs are implemented in accordance with funder requirements and internal standards, while also producing impactful events that raise awareness and advance fundraising goals.


This position is expected to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional weekend and after hours.


Essential Duties

Post-Award Grants Management Duties



  • Oversee the full lifecycle of awarded grants, including implementation, monitoring and closeout activities.

  • Ensure compliance with all funder terms and conditions, including financial and programmatic reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a grants calendar to track grant deliverables, timelines, and expenditures to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Coordinate with program, finance, and administrative staff to ensure grant activities align with budgets and objectives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records for audits, internal review, and funder communication.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final grant reports, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with funder expectations.
  • Facilitate internal grant kickoff meetings to review reporting requirements, budget, and outcome tracking.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on managing funder relationships, including site visits and ongoing communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Fundraising Events & Donor Engagement Duties

  • Plan and execute fundraising and community engagement events to support grant-funded initiatives and broader development goals.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics, including budgeting, vendor coordination, volunteer recruitment, and promotion.
  • Collaborate with staff and partners to align events with grant objectives and community impact.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and event partners.

  • Track and analyze event performance, preparing post-event evaluations and reports.

  • Assist with the development of presentations and materials to communicate impact to donors and community stakeholders.

  • Ensure donor recognition and follow-up communications are completed in a timely and strategic manner.

  • Prepare internal reports summarizing grant and event performance for executive leadership and funders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Organizational Development & Compliance Support

  • Assist in gathering data, testimonials, and success metrics to demonstrate program outcomes and impact for use in reports and promotional materials.
  • Stay current with changes in grant management regulations, nonprofit fundraising laws, and compliance standards; recommend updates to internal processes as needed.
  • Support development and refinement of internal systems, tools and templates for tracking grand and event performance.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by organizing documentation and responding to grant-related inquiries as needed.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align grant and event efforts with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate communications to staff to ensure impact stories and funder acknowledgement are effectively shared across platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education/Experience:



  • High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant management, fundraising, or nonprofit development.

  • Experience planning and executing fundraising and donor engagement events.

  • Experience working with government, foundation, and corporate funders preferred.

Knowledge of:



  • Strong understanding of grant reporting requirements, nonprofit compliance and financial accountability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports, donor communication and impact stories.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Office Equipment Operation (phone, fax, copier, etc.)

  • Computers and Software Programs (Word; Excel; Internet); familiarity with fundraising or CRM software preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to collaborate across departments and engage with stakeholders.
