Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefit administration, employee relations, training & compliance, onboarding, and employment law compliance. `

Duties & Responsibilities:

Training:

. Oversee onboarding and new hire orientation.

· Manage and execute all logistical tasks for onboarding once a job offer is accepted, ensuring new hire pre-employment paperwork is complete and accurate, and promptly responding to new hire inquiries.

· Map out annual training for all staff. Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.

· Design and develop training programs, both outsourced and in-house, selecting appropriate methods such as simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training (OJT), and professional development classes.

· Stay updated on new training methods and techniques, applying known educational principles to ensure training programs are effective and current.

· Work closely with Program Directors to design and tailor specific training programs for their teams.

· Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.

· Develop and market the fee-for-service community training.

· Coordinate training activities with agency trainers and distribute a monthly training calendar to all staff.

· Administer DHS DSP Certification training via Infinitec ENGAGE and add staff to registry.

Administrative

· Oversee and maintain training records and other related documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.

· Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans, review and process enrollment, cancellations, and changes: conduct bi-monthly reviews for accuracy.

· Administer COBRA for group health plans and ensure compliance.

· Conduct semi-monthly benefit accrual process.

· Process DHS billing to submit to the state.

· Research and disseminate available training opportunities, arrange staff attendance within budget, and secure approval of their supervisor. Manage staff registration for relevant training.

· Ensure maintenance of instructor certifications for CPR. First Aid, and QBS, and verify compliance across the agency.

· Coordinate DSP meetings with the Program Director and Vice President of Programs.

Compliance & Reporting

· Regularly review updates from DHS website concerning background checks, DSP, and QIDP training requirements, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and notify Director of Human Resources of all updates.

· Prepares and generates statistical reports related to the Human Resources Department’s activities and performance.

· Attend meetings with various departments, including Service Coordinators, Infinitec, etc. to ensure alignment in training and HR-related matters.

· Stay informed about relevant employment laws to ensure compliance in all HR practices.

Additional

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Non-Exempt
