Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to work directly with the owner on the design and transformation of their personal residence. This unique role requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently, as the owner will be out of the country during the project. Duties
- Collaborate remotely with the owner to understand their design preferences, and requirements..
- Create detailed design plans, and online mood boards using tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar software.
- Independently manage project timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials, furnishings, and other necessary items.
- Oversee remodeling and design implementation, conducting site visits to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, contracts, and documentation with precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain clear, regular communication with the owner via email, video calls, or other remote methods to provide updates and seek approvals.
- Utilize google docs to ensure efficient organization and execution of all tasks.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Interior Designer, Design Assistant, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Google Docs.
- Strong knowledge of remodeling processes, vendor coordination, and material sourcing.
- Excellent budgeting skills to record and manage project costs effectively.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and meticulous attention to detail in design execution.
- Strong communication skills for remote collaboration with the owner, contractors, and vendors.
- A degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred but not mandatory based on experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually
