OPERATIONS MANAGER – High‑End Landscape Maintenance

We’re a crew that values integrity, commitment, teamwork, and a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves work ethic—and we just happen to be pretty good at landscaping. We focus on thoughtful design/build projects and detailed maintenance work (but no mowing). If that sounds like your kind of workplace, read on. We’re hiring an Operations Manager to keep two precision‑maintenance crews running smoothly while helping us refine the systems that fuel our growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead two maintenance crews focused on pruning, weeding, edging, mulching, seasonal clean‑ups, and rejuvenation pruning (no mowing).
- Build weekly schedules with the owners and our part‑time marketing teammate to keep work flowing and crews productive.
- Model and teach horticultural excellence—proper shearing techniques, shrub / perennial ID, and sound plant‑health practices.
- Oversee trucks, trailers, loaders, shop, and all small tools/equipment—ensure the workshop stays organized, coordinate preventive maintenance, and keep safety logs current.
- Develop systems & processes during slower weeks (July and winter) and help recruit, interview, and onboard new team members.
- Champion worksite safety & compliance every day; clean MVR and DOT medical card required.
Must‑Have Skills & Traits
- 3+ years supervising landscape‑maintenance crews.
- Solid Maryland/PA shrub & perennial knowledge; expert pruning / shearing.
- Comfortable with basic tech—spreadsheets and simple iPhone apps such as time‑tracking.

- Valid drivers license

- CDL
- Hardscape experience or knowledge—patios, small retaining walls, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly bend, twist, kneel, and climb in/out of trucks and trailers.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 lbs on uneven terrain in all weather.
Compensation & Schedule
This is a ground‑floor opportunity—your income grows as the company grows. A significant portion of your total compensation comes from our company‑wide profit‑sharing plan, rewarding the results you help create.
- Salary: $55 000 – $70 000 (commensurate with experience).
- Profit‑Sharing Bonus: Up to 25 % of company net profit.
- Peak Season (Mar – May): extended hours as needed.
- Reduced Hours: July, December, and January (salary stays the same).
- February: pre‑season ramp‑up and training.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
