We are looking for a motivated and dependable Lead Ticket Agent to lead our front-line retail team and help deliver unforgettable experiences to guests from around the world.
This is a seasonal, full-time role through December 31, 2025, with immediate availability preferred.
Compensation: This position offers $18.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Ticketing
- Sell tickets, merchandise, and memberships using point-of-sale systems.
- Provide courteous and informed service to guests in person and through email inquries.
- Resolve guest issues and ensure a smooth experience from arrival to departure.
Team Leadership & Scheduling
- Support and oversee a small team of seasonal ticket agents.
- Manage the staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and providing daily guidance to ticket agents.
Retail & Inventory Support
- Receive and organize incoming merchandise.
- Maintain clean, attractive retail displays and manage inventory levels.
- Coordinate with management for timely merchandise restocking.
Operations Coordination
- Communicate effectively with train crew and leadership.
- Ensure office opening and closing protocols are followed.
- Maintain accuracy in cash handling and end-of-day reporting.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail, guest services, or ticketing (supervisory experience a plus).
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, especially during the holiday season.
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasionally lift 25 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and weekend/holiday availability required.
Position Details
- Schedule: 40 hours/week; weekends and evenings may be required
- Term: Through December 31, 2025, with potential for rehire in May or future restructuring
- Location: On-site at the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad, Portland, ME
- Reports To: General Manager
