Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Superintendent to lead and oversee the installation of low voltage systems across a variety of commercial and residential projects in Lexington, KY . This role requires a highly skilled individual with deep knowledge of low voltage systems, including cabling, security systems, fire alarms, and network infrastructure. The Low Voltage Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations, supervising crews, and ensuring that all installations meet project specifications, safety standards, and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the installation of low voltage systems on commercial and residential projects, including security systems, fire alarms, telecommunication cabling, and network infrastructure.
- Lead and coordinate low voltage installation teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.
- Perform daily inspections of job sites to ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of low voltage system designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation or commissioning of low voltage systems.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, including field reports, material tracking, and work completed.
- Ensure proper inventory management and equipment handling on job sites.
- Train and mentor field technicians and ensure they adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate regularly with clients to update them on progress and address any concerns or questions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within the low voltage systems industry.
- Extensive knowledge of low voltage systems, including security, fire alarms, data cabling, audio-visual systems, and structured cabling.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to successful project completion.
- In-depth understanding of building codes, safety standards, and regulations related to low voltage installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Low voltage certifications (e.g., BICSI, NICET) preferred.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
