Overview
We are seeking a skilled maintenance person with experience in grounds, facilities, and equipment. We are looking for someone who can bring a variety of skills, lead a team with accountability, organization and commitment to ensuring safety and productivity. The right candidate will have had experience working in a hotel and restaurant environment, a passion for problem solving, leadership skills and love to be outdoors on Lake Champlain!
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Develop and implement a maintenance program for the inn, grounds, and beach areas.
- Coordinate and oversee all building and grounds activities, including repairs, renovations, carpentry, plumbing and electric troubleshooting
- Respond to guest room needs, assist in janitorial requirements.
- Maintain grounds and landscapes, including winter plowing and shoveling
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure high-quality work.
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs promptly.
- Respond to service requests from staff and customers in a timely manner.
- Ensure closing and opening of non-winterized areas
- Dock installation, maintenance and removal seasonally.
- Hire and train appropriate staff
Experience
- Experience in facilities maintenance. Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge in hotel / resort setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical system with the ability to perform repairs on various systems.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients.
- Self motivated and willing to troubleshoot future issues in a timely manner
- Leadership, organization and department budgeting
- Ability to work independently and in an fast paced environment
