We are looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Manufacturing Manager and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising team leads and team members. Create a culture of personal responsibility, accountability, and continuous improvement in achieving the production schedule while improving safety, quality, and efficiency
- Develop and maintain Training Program, Safety Program, Workgroup boards, Continuous Improvement Projects, etc., and utilizing problem solving methods (A3’s, 8-Step etc.) along with project tracking mechanisms (i.e., Rolling Action Item List (R.A.I.L)
- Manage team members work schedule, time off, and department allocation
- Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices
- Develop and implement production scalability and workflow plans
- Implementation of new assembly processes and operations
- Initiate and facilitate problem solving groups to resolve issues to meet the current and future needs of the company
- Achieve quality and productivity metrics
- Partner with other cross-functional groups inclusive of Warehouse, Quality, and Final Integration and Test (FIT) to ensure production needs are met
- Develop employee versatility plans
- Lead performance management process and make recommendations for compensation changes
- Manage disciplinary actions as required
- Initiate, coordinate, and manage inventory cost control programs
- Prepare and maintain production reports
- Develop and implement 5S and housekeeping programs
- Flexibility to work on any of the shifts, ore in any area of the plant, based on production needs
Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; Associates/Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 7+ years experience in a high-volume manufacturing role required with 3+ years of hands-on- leadership experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience implementing production systems; scale up manufacturing, volume production, linear production using continuous improvement/TPS/Lean manufacturing methods
- Ability to understand and resolve 1st level issues on the floor with equipment, process, or manpower
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships
- Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening)
- Proficient skills in MS Office including Excel, Power Point and Word
- Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight
- Willingness to adapt to change and learn new technical and computer skills
