Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Materials Process Technician 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Essential Functions:

Conducts experiments and tests involving wafer, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, optical, hydraulic, metallurgical, vacuum, or chemicals within fabrication or processing laboratories to support engineering and reliability analyses. Evaluates new processes, components, products, and systems in conformance with engineering specifications. Isolates problems for further analyses. Collects and documents results, and generates reports. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. May design experiments. May be required to ensure correct functioning and identify any discrepancies. May advise operators and inform engineers regarding processes, procedures, and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Ability to follow test plans

  • Experience with Military Standards and/or quality inspections

  • Experience with Lab equipment such as microscopes

Preferred Qualifications:


  • MRB experience

  • Experience working at electronics failure analysis lab environment.

  • Good verbal & written communication skills

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) skills
