Toddler Assistant Teacher (Full-Time)

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour

About Us:
ChongHwa Montessori is a bilingual Montessori daycare located in Irvine, CA. We embrace Positive Discipline and a nurturing, culturally inclusive environment grounded in authentic Montessori principles. We serve children ages 18 months to 6 years and are committed to respecting the individuality and potential of every child.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Teacher for our Toddler Program (18–36 months). The position will begin at the end of August (no later than September 2nd).
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- 1-hour lunch break
- No weekend work required
Position Summary:
The Assistant Teacher will support the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating Montessori environment. The role includes direct care for toddlers, potty training, classroom preparation, and active participation in the daily curriculum that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for toddlers aged 18–36 months, including potty training
- Assist in implementing Montessori-based curriculum and activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Use Positive Discipline techniques to guide behavior and foster independence
- Encourage positive peer interactions and social development
- Collaborate closely with team members and communicate with families professionally
- Ensure safety and well-being of all children at all times
Qualifications:
- 12 ECE (Early Childhood Education) units or equivalent professional experience
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Montessori Assistant Certificate or Teaching Credential from a MACTE-accredited program preferred (AMI/AMS is a plus)
- At least 1 year of experience working with children aged 1.5–5 years old, preferably in a Montessori setting
- Warm, patient, creative, and reliable personality
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass TB clearance and Live Scan background check
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Language Skills:
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin or Spanish is a plus
