Job Description
The Role
The Operations Managers serves as a visible and key member of the divisions senior staff; the individual will manage all the division’s transportation and warehouse operations. Maximizing the productivity of the teams, accountable for directing and coordinating the resources, tasks, requirements and processes related to day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for the supervision of all product distribution functions; shipping, receiving, maintain inventory accuracy and product quality along with managing the daily delivery of product, dispatching, fleet safety, and driver training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Determine adequate personnel needs and staff as appropriate and is involved in the hiring process for warehouse and transportation staff.
- Effectively train personnel and establish performance goals of subordinates.
- Maintain regular communications with sales, buying, warehouse and transportation staff to ensure operations are functioning satisfactorily.
- Implement necessary warehouse and transportation policy and procedures to effectively control operations.
- Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, and budgets for improved profits and services.
- Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Review and inspect warehouse, equipment and documentation, to ensure they are all in compliance with Federal/Local Government Regulations and are in compliance with independent inspection guidelines.
- Review and inspect warehouse and transportation equipment, to ensure periodic maintenance is provided and authorize repairs and services.
- Manage and maintain a Fleet Asset Plan with a 5-year outlook on trucking needs for the future.
- Manage the loss prevention function relating to the facility property and personnel.
- Maintain and achieve operations performance objectives.
- Conduct staff/employee meetings to monitor all aspects of warehousing and transportation operations.
Peripheral Duties:
- Special projects as assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications
- At least 3-years of experience at an Operations Manager level or higher
- Must have thorough knowledge of produce commodities.
- Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal human relations and teaming skills.
- Must be flexible and able to deal with a variety of details simultaneously.
- Must have proven problem-solving skills.
- Must have intermediate PC skills, Microsoft office.
- ERP and/or routing software experience
- Experience and expertise in all areas of warehousing and supply chain logistics.
- Experience and expertise in transportation management.
- Must have an excellent work record with references from current and/or previous employers.
- Prefer a college degree or minimum high school.

This is a safety-sensitive position.
