Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to oversee our daily operations and drive our business towards achieving its strategic goals. The primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of Bering Sea vessel operations and planning. This position also oversees staff located in the Seattle office; as well as coordinating the communication and resources between the Seattle and Anchorage offices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise the activities and personnel engaged in the seafood catch and production, including supplies, inspections, offloads, inventory tracking, permits, compliance, including timesheet approvals and annual Performance reviews for office staff.
· Monitor quota usage and pre-plan season/vessel trips estimating quota based on Survey data.
· Coordinate with Observer program for vessel coverage and provide guidance for compliance.
· Manage pre- and post-season projects and planning, shipyard schedules, and crew.
·Calculate costs for vessel fishing plan and annual budgetary purposes.
· Analyze business operations to make determinations on fishing and asset strategy
· Calculate crew share prices, coordinate with Sales, Logistics and accounting. Approve crew shares per trip. Approve crews advance requests.
· Ensure compliance with reporting and corrective actions and audits with multiple regulating entities including, but not limited to, EPA, FDA, OSHA, USDC, ADEC, USCG, MSC.
· Provide oversight of purchasing, including customs clearance for parts and supplies, Approving PO’s in TM, ensuring parts are shipped timely and correctly
· Supervise Shipping, inventory, coordination with carriers, DPR monitoring, including NH Excel DPR revisions. Negotiate Freight rates with carriers.
· Review approvals for taxes and fees with Quota Manager, including CDQ annual fee and AK Landing taxes.
· Oversee Property management.
· Interpret company policies to workers and ensure safety regulations are being enforced.
· Oversee significant logistical costs of operation decisions. Coordinate with PE for drydocks and Shipyard projects.
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
· Ability to motivate others and build high production teams through exemplary leadership.
· Other duties as assigned. Possible Additional tasks: Board presentations, attend industry meetings as CVRF representative, Supervise leadership on vessels, and oversee crab operations including quota management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess the ability to represent the company in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing. Masters Degree in Administration or related field is preferred. Minimum of five years experience working in multi-species seafood or food operations. Preferred knowledge with seafood political and regulatory issues and decisions. Must understand or ability to quickly gain a strong grasp of admiralty &maritime activities. Cross relevant experiences will be considered. Minimum 5 years in a seafood production or other food production environment with at least three years in a management role.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
