Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry clinic. You will assist the optometrist in various tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out.
Duties
- Conduct preliminary eye exams and gather patient history to assist the optometrist in diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform vision tests, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments.
- Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and processing insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Ensure the clinic is well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment is properly maintained.
- Provide education to patients regarding eye health, contact lens care, and post-operative instructions.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance clinic efficiency and improve patient satisfaction.
Skills
- Experience in a clinical or optical setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of physiology related to eye health and vision care.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on creating a welcoming environment for all patients.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients while ensuring their comfort during examinations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members professionally.
