GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Front Desk Attendant will serve as a customer service representative serving the needs of the patrons that enter or call High Blue. They will serve as an ambassador for the High Blue with a cheerful and positive attitude. They will be knowledgeable on all passes, facilities, and programs to be able to answer any inquiries. Incumbent must demonstrate a strong personal commitment to the mission and goals of the Belton Parks & Recreation Department. They will carry out their assigned responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Greet patrons entering the facility, answer questions, take registrations for programs, sell memberships and process requests for facility reservations. Provide receipts for monies received.
Handle customer service inquiries and related problems.
Be completely knowledgeable of all High Blue & Recreation programs and services to answer questions and/or channel calls to the proper administrative and support staff.
Give tours of High Blue to anyone that may be a potential member or renter.
Supervise all areas of High Blue ensuring that all patrons adhere to all policies.
Supervise all rentals and programs to ensure they run smoothly and adhere to all policies.
Open and/or close High Blue.
Assist administrative staff with maintenance of all pass-holder records.
Assist in training new staff members and maintaining effective working relations with all other part-time staff.
Knowledge of computer functions including RecTrac entries of program participants, pass participants, reservations, and cash register.
Be knowledgeable and follow procedures regarding money handling.
Assist administrative staff with mailings and special promotions.
Report any damage or maintenance needs to the Park Superintendent immediately.
Assist in building cleanliness, rental/program set-ups and clean-ups when needed.
Maintain the front desk area in a clean and organized manner.
Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Services Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to use fitness equipment properly and safely.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to exhibit a positive approach in public contact and a calm nature in problem solving situations.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in working with children preferred.
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
The employee occasionally works in highs, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic chemicals.
The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
