SUMMARY
Representing the Welcome Center as an inviting space to welcome and service visitors in a fast, friendly, and efficient manner. The Part -time Service Engagement Specialist for the Welcome Center will perform a “host of customer service and administrative duties” that support the University’s efforts to connect and engage the internal and external customers, via incoming calls and inquiries regarding admissions into the University and application process; direct inquiries about campus programs and campus life; is responsible for meeting, greeting and providing assistance to prospective students, alumni, and special guests in the Welcome & Intake Centers and at the mobile Kiosks. Work as a team with Recruitment and Enrollment Services (Fall & Spring Registration, campus tours, commencement etc.). Represent the college at on & off-campus events as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet, greet, and assist prospective and current students, alumni, and special guests in the Welcome Center, Intake Center and at the mobile Kiosks.
- Support students through the Enrollment Management process (Registration, Research initial status of Application/ Enrollment, Student Banner and Moodle accounts, Connect individual to appropriate campus services.)
- Work with the Recruitment Office to actively communicate with prospective students and parents by email, phone, and text messaging for recruitment into the university to ensure that important application steps are reached.
- Multi-tasking face-to-face interactions and phone inquiries in a busy environment and taking initiative to ensure effortless office functions.Assist student with the use of interactive Kiosks.
- Serve as front line Ambassador representing the university in a positive manner.
- Represent the college at on & off-campus events as needed including the Office of Advancement & University Relations events for Alumni & friends.
- Assist with the coordinating and scheduling of computer-based remote testing for new and continuing students and exam proctoring when necessary
- Perform other office duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree or High School diploma (with previous experience required).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
- Must be dependable.
- Enthusiasm to positively represent SUSLA is a Must!
- Ability to work with diverse groups.
- Organizational and time management skills desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, Banner software or the ability to learn.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree or above preferred.
- Knowledge of SUSLA Programs and Services preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of and ability to navigate social media apps (FB, Twitter, Snap Chat).
