We are an independent Pharmacy located in Slidell, LA. Searching for a full time Pharmacy Technician preferably certified
Pharmacy Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Shifts are 8 hours between those hours
Job Duties:
To assist the pharmacist(s) in storing, preparing, dispensing, reconciling and charging of all medications. To assist the pharmacist(s) in maintaining an adequate drug inventory and quality control procedures. Pharmacy Technicians shall work under the direct supervision of a licensed registered pharmacist, and will only perform activities that comply with the State Board of Pharmacy practices.
· Accurately prepares medication orders for dispensing by the pharmacist by retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, labeling and mixing medications
· Verifies prescription information and dosage
· Coordinates billing
· Enters patient and medication order information into the pharmacy system
· Processes and submits insurance claims
· Provides quality customer service to patients and other healthcare providers
· Processes new and refill prescriptions
· Promotes patients’ drug compliance
· Coordinates responses and resolutions with appropriate internal and external parties.
· Performs all tasks in a safe manner that is consistent with corporate policies as well as state and federal laws
· Assists the pharmacist with inventory of drugs
· Ensures security of pharmacy and medications
· Verifies the information on the prescription is complete and accurate
· Receives written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
· Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
· Answers telephones, responding to questions or requests.
· Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
· Assists the pharmacist with monitoring and increasing patient compliance
· Operates cash registers to accept payment from customers.
· Files prescriptions that have been filled.
· Cleans, and helps maintain, equipment and work areas, according to prescribed methods.
· Establishes and maintains patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients
· Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices, and informs supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
· Performs all other duties as assigned by appropriate management
Applicant Requirements:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification
- High School Diploma
- Demonstrate proficiency with using Windows operating system and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
Salary: Starting range would be $17- $18 per hour based on experience with ability to receive pay increases based on performance.

Vacation: 40 hours paid time off starts accruing after one year of service, 80 hours after 2 years, and 120 hours after 3 years
