What You’ll Do:

  • Enforce safety, sanitation, and production standards: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, sanitation regulations, and production or processing standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate production activities: Direct and manage the activities of employees, ensuring collaboration across departments, meeting production goals, and refining processes to improve efficiency.
  • Oversee scheduling and resource management: Manage work schedules, production sequences, and the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Ensure quality control: Monitor materials, products, and equipment to ensure they are free of defects and meet required standards.
  • Develop and train supervisors: Provide training on work and safety procedures, conduct performance evaluations, and create growth plans for supervisory staff.
  • Address supervisory and employee issues: Support supervisors in resolving employee performance concerns, developing corrective action plans, and addressing any supervisory deficiencies.
  • Participate in employment decisions: Contribute to hiring, pay, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Track performance and maintain records: Oversee employee attendance, maintain operational data, and prepare reports on time, production, and costs to evaluate outputs and progress.
  • Set production standards and goals: Establish and adjust production goals and requirements, taking into account company policies, available resources, and workloads.
  • Resolve worker issues and improve efficiency: Address worker grievances, recommend motivational strategies, and implement methods to enhance production processes and equipment performance.
  • Manage personnel actions: Oversee personnel decisions such as hiring, evaluations, promotions, and related actions.
  • Shop Floor presence: Maintain a consistent and active presence on the shop floor, spending approximately 2/3 of the shift overseeing operations (walking approximately 3 miles a day), along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Commitment to safety and quality: Ability to enforce safety regulations, ensure sanitation compliance, and maintain high standards in production quality.
  • Strong leadership skills: Proven experience in supervising and coordinating the activities of employees across departments to meet production goals and improve processes.
  • Excellent organizational abilities: Skilled in managing schedules, production sequences, and resource allocation to meet targets efficiently.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to monitor materials, products, and equipment to ensure defect-free production.
  • Experience in supervisor development: Capable of providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting the growth of supervisory staff.
  • Problem-solving and employee relations: Ability to address employee and supervisory performance issues, develop corrective action plans, and foster positive workplace relations.
  • Involvement in employment decisions: Experience in contributing to decisions around hiring, promotions, pay, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Record-keeping and reporting: Strong skills in tracking employee attendance, maintaining operational data, and preparing reports on production performance.
  • Goal-setting and standards development: Capable of establishing production standards and adjusting goals based on company policies, resources, and workload.
  • Collaborative conflict resolution: Ability to resolve worker grievances, improve motivation, and enhance production efficiency and equipment performance.
  • Personnel management: Experience in managing personnel actions such as hiring, evaluations, and promotions.
  • (Preferred) Bilingual: Able to communicate in both English and Spanish.
  • (Preferred) Machining and Manufacturing background: Experience in manufacturing with a strong understanding of machining principles and disciplines.

Your Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, based off 1st shift schedules. The superintendent will be required to arrive before shift start and stay after shift end to ensure proper shift carryover.
