Practice Managers in Suveto are integral to the performance of each hospital. While working in partnership with the Medical Director and reporting to the Operations Director, they are leaders who reflect the quality and culture of the hospital team. They are tasked with upholding the hospital’s standards, mission and vision with an ownership mentality.
The Practice Manager is responsible for modeling distributive leadership to nurture a positive and sustainable workplace culture of the veterinary team. The PM is responsible for the administrative, financial, and personnel management to ensure the smooth running of the hospital. The PM must exhibit positive attitudes, have strong work ethics, and uphold high client service standards to create a successful hospital.
Salary range is $60,000 - $65,000.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for overseeing the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff.
- Monitor employee competence and effectiveness through manager feedback and observation as well as staff performance and salary reviews.
- Assign job responsibilities to managers and delegate as necessary.
- Responsible for policy enforcement as well as overseeing disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Organize and conduct staff meetings. Meet regularly with managers to discuss, evaluate, and plan for the welfare of the practice. Attend corporate meetings.
- Responsible for administration and review of non-medical client complaints.
- Oversee client flow to ensure that clients and patients are seen and treated in a professional, timely and competent manner. Also, oversee billing, calculations of any discounts and other special accounts.
- Monitor purchasing so the practice operates within budget. Monitor the staff scheduling so that the practice operates within budget. Monitor and approve all expenditures within the Practice's guidelines.
- Ensure that the OSHA and Safety program and procedures are being monitored and updated so that the hospitals are in safety compliance.
- Review income statements and other financial data to find ways to improve revenues and hospital contribution. Meet regularly with veterinarians to review financial performance.
- Review accounts receivable to confirm proper and timely processing.
- Understand, participate, and support planned marketing events and programs and ensure that the hospital staff utilizes marketing tools and materials and events and programs.
- Read and respond to all communication in a timely manner to ensure that the Practices’ policies, guidelines, and recommendations are promptly communicated to hospital staff and adequate training follows if needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Leadership Skills: Communication, decision-making, delegation, development, and project management.
- Essential traits: Adaptability, time management, emotional intelligence, and creativity
- Experience: 1-2 years of management experience preferred; experience in managing a veterinary hospital, including financial and administrative support, with experience in managing teams.
- Must have reliable transportation to be able to support both locations (Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, CO)
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- College degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical care facility operations management with profit and loss responsibility
