Manufacturing Team Lead
The Manufacturing Floor Lead is responsible for coordinating and directing day-to-day production activities on the manufacturing floor. This role ensures team members stay on task, production goals are met, quality standards are upheld, and workflow remains efficient and safe.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily production activities (filling, capping, labeling, packaging, quality checks).
- Assign tasks, then monitor and record team members’ productivity throughout shifts.
- Ensure production schedules are followed and daily output goals are met.
- Conduct quality checks on finished goods for accuracy and consistency.
- Create accurate logs and records of all finished goods in accordance with GMP standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area.
- Enforce safety protocols and use of PPE.
- Communicate shift performance, issues, and improvement opportunities to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Train new team members in department processes and standards.
- Work with Manufacturing Manager to research, procure, install and utilize new machinery to hit desired production targets
Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent complex problem solving abilities, especially creative problem solving
- Expertise in organizational and time management skills, especially for scheduling and delegating labor time
- Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Technical knowledge of machines used in production (such as filling, capping, labeling)
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures and equipment, especially in regards to sanitization
- Technical knowledge of, and experience with, ERP software
- Experience in directing, tracking and evaluating a team
- Experience with creating and presenting reports
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions with minimal oversight
Preferred:
- 5 years experience in Production Supervisor or similar role preferred
- BS in Project Management / Manufacturing Management preferred
- Experience working in cosmetics manufacturing specifically
- Knowledge of color theory
