Starting pay: $19.25 an hour. Commensurate with experience.
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for supporting Store Planning and Procurement activities for all locations.
· Prepares purchase orders and processes weekly supply orders.
· Manages new store supply orders.
· Manages vendor relationships by tracking and expediting orders and communicating via email and phone.
· Provides support for inquiries from associates, supervisors and vendors.
· Creates, sends and maintains correspondence to vendors and stores.
· Reviews and approves invoices for payment within established guidelines.
· Provides assistance with inventory management, asset allocation, and departmental expense reports.
· Clarifies specifications, researches products, evaluates, and recommends alternatives.
· Cross-trained as a back up for Purchasing Specialists and Store Planners.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and 1-3 years related work experience required. Degree is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of PC-based data processing capabilities and procedures, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with diverse business partners.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, maintaining multiple projects on an on-going basis with shifting priorities. Must be able to easily embrace and manage change.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with associates at many levels
