Summary:
Hui Huliau is seeking a Quality Control Superintendent to support our construction management team in New Mexico. In this position, you will be directly responsible for the daily implementation and oversight of all on-site Quality Control (QC) activities. You will ensure that construction work adheres to project plans, specifications, and established quality standards. This role requires a strong focus on on-site presence, direct supervision of quality inspections, and meticulous documentation of the three phases of control, testing, and compliance.
To be a successful QC Superintendent, you should have the ability to work with multiple discipline projects and demonstrate excellent on-site project supervision and leadership skills. You should also possess strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the project's specific plans and specifications to ensure direct adherence on site.
- Implement and maintain all necessary on-site pre-construction and post-construction documents and plans for the assigned project.
- Create, update, and maintain daily on-site project logs such as submittal logs, rework logs, testing and inspection logs, training logs, and all other project-specific quality control reports.
- Perform direct review of shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications and communicate any discrepancies to the project team.
- Directly assist and guide the contractor and on-site personnel in understanding and implementing contract quality requirements.
- Continuously examine the quality control methods being used by the contractor on-site to determine if activities are being properly controlled per contract documents.
- Ensure all required quality documents are being properly filed and maintained on site for immediate access and review.
- Directly supervise and perform on-site Quality Control functions/activities, including daily Quality Control inspections and the collection of Quality Records.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Superintendent and on-site crews to address all quality matters.
- Perform ongoing and detailed examinations of ongoing and completed work to ensure compliance.
- Identify and communicate the need for necessary changes in the contractor's QC system if excessive construction deficiencies occur, and ensure their implementation.
- Actively participate in and provide input for weekly QC meetings, providing on-site observations and contributing to written minutes as described in project-specific contract documents.
- Provide accurate and timely daily QC reports that document activities constructed in conformance with established project standards, and directly address non-conformances to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
- Directly conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings (3 Phases of Quality Control) for all definable features of work to establish and verify adherence to desired standards.
- Verify and document on-site that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use.
- Coordinate and document on-site the testing and commissioning of building systems.
- Perform hands-on quality control testing and inspection in adherence with contract requirements and company best practices.
- Ensure all as-built and red-line drawings are being kept up-to-date on the project site.
- Assist in the collection and organization of all closeout quality items and documents required for submission to the client.
Required Experience / Education:
- BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or relevant field or 5-7 years combined experience. (Equivalent experience in lieu of formal education may be considered).
- MS Office skills, Procore
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards with Federal Government, State, City & County work
- Ability to work with multiple projects
- Decision making ability and leadership skills
- Time management and organization skills
- Familiarity with basic safety rules and regulations, OSHA and Army Corp EM-385
Qualification Requirements:
- Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States.
- This position requires US Citizenship due to clearance for base access.

- Valid US Driver’s license in good standing, class 3 or higher.
- Candidates must have access to reliable form of transportation to get to work and other job sites when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Predominantly Sedentary work. Work is performed in a home office environment (with sometimes site meetings) and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
- Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
