Position: Recreation Assistant (Temporary).
Shifts: Assignment is expected to last around 6 months, pending community need.
Assignment is 20 hours per week. 2pm-7pm 4 weekdays per week.
Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working with seniors, or in a health care setting is preferred, but willing to train the right person.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Able to attend short trips into the community
- Flexible schedule which may include late morning and early afternoon start times.

Essential Job Duties:
- Planning, coordinating and implementing calendar activities based on the resident population interests. These activities will be designed to meet their physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Responsible for creating opportunities for daily 1:1 visits with all residents to invite and inform them of activities, have conversations, and offer support, etc.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation of the resident’s attendance and participation levels
- Distribute and post material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting recreation space for residents, families, and staff
- Communicate with Director of Therapeutic Recreation for supply, program, and resident needs
- Provide appropriate therapeutic recreation interventions for residents
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation
