Retail Cannabis Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Retail Cannabis Manager to lead one of the high-performing teams in the industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cannabis retail operations, a passion for the plant and its community, and the ability to manage both people and performance with integrity and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily retail operations and ensure a seamless, compliant, and customer-centric experience
- Motivate and lead a team of supervisors and retail associates, cultivating a positive, high-performance culture
- Maintain excellent customer service standards and ensure every visitor receives knowledgeable and respectful service
- Train staff on product knowledge, compliance, procedures, and sales techniques
- Monitor and analyze store metrics including sales, inventory turnover, shrinkage, labor efficiency, and customer feedback
- Perform basic accounting duties such as cash reconciliation, deposits, and end-of-day reporting
- Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and employee time tracking to align with business needs
- Ensure store cleanliness, merchandising, promotional signage, and visual presentation are up to standard
- Collaborate with inventory, compliance, marketing, and executive teams to execute strategy and resolve operational issues
- Ensure full adherence to all local, state, and company compliance requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a licensed cannabis retail environment
- Deep knowledge of cannabis products, categories, and regulatory framework
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical mindset with a comfort working with sales reports, KPIs, and inventory data
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and operational discipline
- Proficient with POS systems and state track-and-trace systems (Treez, METRC, Webjoint)
- Ability to resolve employee and customer issues calmly and effectively
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience in high-volume cannabis retail environments
- Understanding of product lifecycle, pricing, and promotional strategies
- Bilingual skills
- Familiarity with California cannabis regulations
