Job Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and strategic Sales Manager to lead our sales operations across California’s Central Valley. This is a new role for our company, created to support our continued growth and strengthen our customer relationships. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a deep understanding of the sales process, and a proactive approach to business development.
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Fresno, CA, with regular travel throughout our service area from Bakersfield to Sacramento.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed company goals
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to drive performance and development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and follow-up
- Oversee outside sales activities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs
- Use CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage leads, monitor performance, and generate reports
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns to boost customer engagement and brand visibility
- Conduct regular product training and coaching for the sales team
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Central Valley region
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in food distribution, foodservice, or a related industry
- Proven track record in a sales leadership or management role
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work full-time and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) review, conducted in compliance with California regulations including the Fair Chance Act
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field — or equivalent experience
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills
- Experience in food distribution, logistics, or wholesale
Compensation
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $96,838 annually (depending on experience)
