MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Senior Data Analyst to join our innovative team in Washington, DC.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protects America by enforcing federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration. Its mission focuses on preserving national security and public safety through criminal investigations and immigration law enforcement. This includes combating transnational crime and identifying, detaining, and removing individuals who violate immigration laws.
In response to this challenge, ManTech, as a trusted mission partner of ICE, seeks capable, qualified, and versatile Senior Data Scientists to help lead the development and delivery of high-quality predictive modeling solutions. Successful applicants will serve as recognized subject matter experts in the application of quantitative methods, machine learning algorithms, and predictive models to address complex national and homeland security challenges.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques to identify significant trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies.
Independently identify solutions for assigned business problems, and routinely collaborate with enterprise/application architects, database architects, data scientists, and mission stakeholders.
Extract, clean, and transform data associated within an identified problem space to help build predictive models as well as develop appropriate supporting documentation.
Leverage knowledge of a variety of statistical and machine learning techniques.
Execute projects including those intended to identify patterns and/or anomalies.
Research information as necessary.
Brief project management, technical design, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences including senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle through written as well as virtual reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of experience or a master’s degree and 5+ years of experience in business analytics, statistics, data science, information technology, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physical science, engineering or a related field
2+ years of experience leading a team of Data or Intel Analysts
1+ years of recent experience supporting ICE or Law Enforcement programs
Proficiency in statistical modeling.
Proficiency using Python, R, Scala, or JavaScript and related packages for development and analysis.
Experience working in the field of entity resolution, analytics, data mining or name matching.
Hands on experience with one or more relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Postgres)
Hands on experience with SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in cloud computing/cloud storage.
Conceptual understanding of – and/or prior experiences related to – data profiling, fuzzy matching, entity resolution, and signal detection theory
Experience working within an Agile development environment.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain DHS ICE suitability.
Must have active ICE BI
Must have Public Trust/Suitability with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with coworkers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $126,300.00-$210,300.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
