We’re looking for a Service Writer to join our team and help keep our fleet in top shape. You’ll be the connection point between our crews and the fleet department, helping to coordinate service and repair work for fleet vehicles and equipment, keep communication clear and organized between teams, and help ensure repairs are scheduled, tracked, and completed.

Daily Job Activities:
- Customer Service & Communication
- Communicate promptly with staff and assess their service needs.
- Clearly explain repair processes and timelines.
- Provide updates on work progress and notify staff of any changes.
- Handle inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally.
- Service Coordination
- Schedule service appointments and assist fleet management with ensuring efficient workflow in the shop in accordance with the RTE Classification of Defects policy.
- Communicate with fleet management to relay internal customer concerns and job priorities.
- Assist with work orders, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of repairs.
- Assist in estimating repair times and costs.
- Technical & Administrative Support
- Understand common mechanical and hydraulic issues in heavy equipment and trucks to effectively communicate service needs.
- Document service history, recommended maintenance, and future repair needs.
- Process repair orders, parts requests, and warranty claims.
- Parts & Inventory Assistance
- Coordinate with the service department to ensure timely availability of required parts inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering and obtaining high-demand service parts.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Required;
- 4-5 years’ experience in a dealership or repair facility specializing in heavy trucks or construction equipment.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and service tools.
- Relevant industry & equipment certifications.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds at times.
