Restaurant Storage Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Restaurant Storage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the receiving, organization, storage, and distribution of food, beverages, and supplies in the restaurant’s storerooms, cold storage, and dry goods areas. This role ensures that all products are stored safely, rotated properly, and available for kitchen and service teams as needed.
This is a key back-of-house role requiring attention to detail, knowledge of food safety practices, and the ability to manage inventory and deliveries in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the receiving of deliveries and verify product quality, quantity, and condition.
- Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all products (dry, refrigerated, and frozen).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all storage areas in accordance with health and safety codes.
- Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts; update inventory management systems.
- Implement First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methods to prevent spoilage and product loss.
- Alert management of any stock shortages, overages, or expired products.
- Ensure all storage and handling practices comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, local health regulations).
- Maintain temperature logs for cold storage areas and report any deviations.
- Support pest control and cleanliness standards in all storage zones.
- Assist in preparing inventory reports for management and accounting teams.
- Coordinate with kitchen and purchasing teams to anticipate storage needs.
- Track waste and damaged goods, and implement corrective measures.
- Supervise and train receiving or stockroom staff (if applicable).
- Ensure all back-of-house staff follow storage SOPs and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or technical degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in food storage, inventory, or warehouse operations (restaurant or hospitality preferred).
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and operate pallet jacks or hand trucks.
- Familiarity with inventory software, POS systems, or Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Skills:
- ServSafe or HACCP certification.
- Experience in high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchens.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work early mornings or late shifts based on delivery schedules.
Working Conditions:

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
