What you can expect as a Structures Technician at West Star:
As a Structures Technician, each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. You will need to have a basic to advanced knowledge of turbine aircraft structures, reading blueprints, working from drawings, fastening systems, procedures, and techniques. The Structures Technician will report to the MRO Services Manager and will be responsible for completing repairs on aircraft parts and components. This position requires the Technician to display a professional demeanor and create a work environment that fosters mutual respect between co-workers, customers, and vendors. This challenging position requires the Technician to be a team player, working across various departments, while accomplishing tasks with minimal supervision and a strong sense of focus on details, quality, and safety.

What you’ll need to bring with you:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License is preferred. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Experience: Prior aircraft sheet metal repair experience is highly recommended.
Initiative: We are looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment. Working under specific deadlines and time constraints is common.
Your Sense of Responsibility: • Report to work daily as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments. • Notify your supervisor before the start of your shift if you are unable to work. • Reliable transportation is required. • Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. • Follow all company policies and safety procedures. • Maintain customer-focused work habits.

Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. • Routine walking, bending, squatting, and sitting. • Repetitive motion with arms and hands. • Climbing ladders and stairs; working in confined areas. • Standing for extended periods.
Mental Requirements: • Understanding and applying regulations and guidelines. • Troubleshooting and evaluating system operations. • Working professionally with others.
Supervision: • Work under the supervision of an assigned Team Leader. • May be asked to supervise other technicians as needed.
Working Conditions: • Work is performed in a hangar environment with temperature extremes ranging from very cold to very hot.
Equipment Used: • Personal hand tools (provided by the mechanic). • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. • Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices. • Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment.
