Job Description

The Student Success Navigator (Recruitment Emphasis) plays a crucial role in promoting College of Technology programs and supporting students throughout their educational journey. Focused on active recruitment and outreach, the Navigator will engage with prospective students through school visits, career fairs, presentations, and individual consultations. With strong communication skills and an enthusiastic approach, the Navigator will help students explore Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, assist with admission processes, and support retention and completion efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit prospective students by conducting presentations at high schools, career fairs, and community events.
  • Provide enthusiastic and engaging group presentations highlighting College of Technology programs, career pathways, and student opportunities.
  • Travel throughout the region to promote the College of Technology and build relationships with schools and community organizations. Most travel will occur during regular office hours and will not require overnight stays, though occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Offer one-on-one guidance to prospective students on program options, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Use the CRM to manage prospective and current student information, track interactions, and send targeted communications to support recruitment and retention efforts.
    Oversee the admission process for assigned College of Technology programs and assist students with application completion.
  • Support newly admitted students through onboarding and the transition to college life.
  • Communicate college and university policies clearly and help students navigate administrative processes.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators, faculty, and department chairs to stay current on program offerings, capacity, and admission standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, recruitment activities, and success outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
  • At least one (1) year experience working with high school or college students in any of the following capacities: college admissions, college advising, recruiting, mentoring, counseling
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and comfortable presenting to large groups
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently for recruitment activities
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs)
  • Collaborative working style and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in recruitment, admissions, student services, or a related area in higher education
  • Knowledge of the College of Technology programs and CTE pathways
  • Experience delivering presentations to groups of students, parents, or educators
  • Personal warmth and the ability to build positive relationships with prospective students

Additional Information

Salary will be between $49,750 - $53,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
