Carlton Corners is a three-generation, family-owned restaurant and gas station in Carlton, Oregon. We are looking for a hands-on, (part-time to potentially full time) Support Staff Manager and Office Assistant to oversee our team of 10 gas attendants & dishwashers, as well as perform a variety of other administrative tasks and be overall support to the Owner. Basically...a jack or jill of all trades! If you like variety in your day, then this job is for you! Hours are flexible and may vary week to week but evenings and some weekends are mandatory.
Position Summary:
The Support Staff Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of gas attendants and dishwashing staff to ensure efficient operations, cleanliness, safety, and excellent service. This hands-on leadership role supports the broader management team by promoting accountability, training, and a positive work environment for entry-level team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision:
- Directly oversee gas attendants and dishwashers during shifts- corrective action and follow up after shifts
- Ensure proper staffing, break schedules, and task assignments.
- Step in to assist in both areas when needed to maintain service standards.
- Training & Onboarding:
- Train new hires on safety procedures, job expectations, and customer service.
- Provide ongoing coaching and retraining as necessary.
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and functionality of dish areas and fuel pump zones.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues or escalate maintenance needs.
- Customer Service & Safety:
- Model and enforce safe, courteous, and efficient service practices for gas attendants.
- Address customer complaints or incidents professionally and promptly.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years in restaurant or other hospitality management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Experience with POS systems, inventory tools, and cash handling
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
