This position is a member of our North Central & West Texas Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Conduct environmental regulatory inspections, surveys, and follow-up investigations; prepare reports which document field activities, observed on-site conditions, and any regulatory violations.
- Notify regulated entities of the investigation findings and provide guidance on corrective actions for noncompliance.
- Provide technical assistance to the public, regulated community, and other interested groups regarding the application appropriate regulations.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing environmental samples.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in environmental activities.
- Experience interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
- Experience writing technical or research papers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required.
OR
Four years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities directly related to the examples of work performed.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Environmental Investigator II-IV series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ North Central & West Texas Division.
