This position is a member of our North Central & West Texas Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Assist in the oversight and coordination of staff and programs for the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Region of the TCEQ.
- Assist the Director with regional management activities to include strategic planning and providing leadership for the region's program managers, assuring effective implementation of agency programs.
- Supervise the daily functions of the operational /administrative support staff within the region. Perform management functions which include hiring, developing, and performance management.
- Communicate regulatory and technical information concerning compliance and enforcement of existing rules to agency staff, federal, state and local officials, the general public, and the regulated community.
- Assist the Director in overseeing the Agency Records Management program concerning records retention, storage, access, and destruction. Oversight of Public Information Request (PIR) activities is also included in this function.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Awarded bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in basic science, engineering, or environmental studies.
- Experience conducting, organizing, and/or coordinating programs and activities regarding highly complex environmental investigations, spills, or projects.
- Experience managing personnel (both technical and administrative) and familiarity with related agency guidance and processes (e.g., technical programs, GAP, Percs, CAPPs, etc.).
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
OR
Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department to include professional management experience where primary duties consists of planning organizing, controlling, and directing the work of an organization or formal subdivision, or team.
OR
Experience as a special assistant to a TCEQ director or deputy director developing management policies and directing/evaluating operations.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ North Central & West Texas Division.
