This position is a member of our Region 12 – Houston Office.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Hire, manage, and appraise the performance of program staff; oversee staff development and activities, including leadership training.
- Coordinate, schedule, monitor, and communicate information regarding the progress of the region's Waste Program and staff; advise the Regional Director of significant issues related to programs and personnel.
- Oversee the development of guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations and monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Identify and makes recommendations to improve operations.
- Communicates information regarding compliance, enforcement, and monitoring activities for the region’s Waste Program.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing compliance, enforcement, and/or monitoring activities.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and/or training staff.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.
OR
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Manager V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Manager V series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Houston Regional Office.
