Job Title: Operations Team Lead II
Location: Baltimore, MD
Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Summary:
The Operations Team Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting daily operations across production, logistics, and material handling functions. This role is ideal for an experienced operator and CDL-A driver with a strong understanding of warehouse workflows who can lead by example on the shop floor. The Team Lead II will help coordinate day-to-day activities, drive operational efficiency, and ensure on-time customer deliveries while serving as a backup for critical positions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of Operators and Material Handlers to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals
- Operate saws, shears, and other machinery as needed for production work
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials throughout the facility
- Serve as backup CDL-A driver for local deliveries and coverage during absences (vacation/sick)
- Drive a short-bed truck for daily deliveries
- Assist in shipping, receiving, and packaging as needed to ensure smooth flow of goods
- Support shift-level leadership responsibilities including assigning tasks, completing paperwork, and resolving issues on the floor
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- CDL-A license with a clean driving record and local delivery experience
- Proficiency operating forklifts, cranes, and common production machinery (saws, shears, slitters, etc.)
- Previous experience in a team lead, step-up foreman, or similar leadership capacity
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable multitasking and adjusting priorities in a fast-paced environment
