Title: Human Resources Assistant (TEMP)
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Location: ECF Headquarters, Culver City
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule Hours: 20 hours per week
Duration: Two-month Assignment
Compensation: $17.28 - $21.00 per hour, depends on experience
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Position Summary
Perform a variety of time-sensitive, skilled administrative and clerical duties directly related to human resources activities. Supports the department in fostering positive employee relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Input and maintain data needed to prepare a variety of reports, including: New Hire and Termination reports, and the Employee Roster. Prepare other reports as needed
- Establish and/or maintain a tracking system for employee evaluations, TB tests, physicals, auto insurance, credentials, licenses, and trainings. Notify employees and their supervisors of any required renewals
- Coordinate and schedule various employee trainings (i.e., First Aid, CPR, NCI, etc.) Notify staff and their supervisors when attendance is required
- Maintain Human Resources department database and files. Close out and store personnel files for separated employees. Maintain the HR master calendar.
Other Duties
- Comply with ECF’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment.
- Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: Two years as an HR Assistant preferred or similar skills
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
- Working knowledge of human resources principals, practices, and procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Abillity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters and interactions with others in a positive, professional manner using tact, diplomacy, and discretion
- Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Take initiative and follow up/follow through in a timely manner to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Access
- Excellent communication skills, including grammar and punctuation
- Good math aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Keyboard speed of 50 wpm.

- Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially
Work Environment
Work site is located in a building shared with a school for students (grades K–12th) who have varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Employee may encounter students who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress, or behaving in an aggressive manner. Environment may include frequent interruptions, loud noise, odors, varying indoor temperature, and drafts. May encounter inclement weather when traveling for ECF business.
