Summary:
As our Website Analyst, you will drive data-informed decisions by architecting and analyzing our digital analytics ecosystem—emphasizing Amplitude implementations. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams (e-commerce, marketing, product, BI) to quantify customer journeys, optimize site performance, and deliver actionable insights. Your critical thinking and curiosity will uncover new analytical approaches, ensuring our tagging strategy is robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end implementation, validation, and maintenance of event tracking in Amplitude, ensuring data integrity and governance.
- Deploy, maintain, and QA analytics tags using Google Tag Manager (or a similar tag management platform).
- Analyze event-stream data to map customer journeys and conversion funnels; identify friction points and recommend improvements.
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports that translate behavioral insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Shopify e-commerce teams to instrument custom events, monitor checkout flows, and evaluate experiment performance.
- Research and prototype alternative analytics tools, methodologies, and data sources to continuously advance our measurement capabilities.
- Document and maintain tagging schemas, data layer definitions, and best-practice guidelines to support scalable, self-serve analytics.
Competencies Required:
- 2+ years of hands-on digital analytics experience with one of the following:
- Amplitude (strongly preferred), Adobe Analytics, or Google Analytics
- Advanced proficiency with Google Tag Manager (or equivalent) for tag deployment and QA.
- Practical experience with Shopify or comparable e-commerce platforms, including front-end event instrumentation.
- Deep understanding of customer journey mapping, funnel analysis, and event-stream data concepts.
- Proven critical thinking ability: hypothesis-driven, creative problem-solving, and systematic experimentation.
- Intellectual curiosity and a continuous-learning mindset—hungry to explore new tools and techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into executive-ready narratives.
Equipment and Software:
- SQL proficiency for querying raw event data.
- Experience with Shopify or other website platform software
- Experience with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO) and A/B test evaluation.
- Familiarity with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Tableau).
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and analytics best practices.
