Job Title: Senior Manager, Growth & Marketing – Africa | Subscriber Revenue, Data, Content & Partnerships

Location: Hybrid

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Department: Marketing & Partnerships

Job Objective

The Senior Manager will drive subscriber growth, revenue, engagement and retention across African markets through a combination of data-driven marketing, content, telco/distribution partnerships and regional team leadership.

The ideal candidate will come from digital subscription, streaming, media, fintech, mobile or technology businesses, with proven experience growing a subscriber/user base using data, content and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Own subscriber growth and revenue targets across African markets, including acquisition, conversion, ARPU, engagement, retention and churn.

• Use GA4, revenue dashboards and customer data to identify trends, opportunities and performance gaps and turn insights into commercial actions.

• Develop content and audience strategies that drive customer acquisition, conversion and retention, not visibility alone.

• Manage strategic telco and digital distribution partnerships, including performance reviews, negotiations, renewals and new opportunities with operators such as MTN, Safaricom and Vodacom.

• Work with Product, Finance, Marketing and Content teams to improve pricing, customer journeys and commercial performance.

• Lead a small distributed regional team, setting clear KPIs, targets and accountability.

• Monitor market, customer and competitor trends to identify new growth opportunities.

• Present data-driven commercial recommendations to the CEO and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business,

Communications, Sales, Economics, Analytics or a related field.

  • Proven experience in digital subscription,
  • streaming, media, fintech, mobile, technology or consumer digital

    businesses.

  • Demonstrated success in subscriber/customer/user
  • growth and revenue generation.

  • Experience managing telco, digital distribution,
  • billing or technology partnerships in African markets.

  • Strong hands-on experience with GA4, revenue
  • dashboards and customer/marketing analytics.

  • Strong understanding of ARPU, churn, conversion,
  • acquisition, engagement and retention.

  • Strong content marketing and audience development
  • capability.

  • Proven experience leading regional or distributed
  • teams.

  • Excellent commercial, negotiation, communication and
  • stakeholder management skills.

    Non-Negotiable

    Strong data and metrics fluency is

    essential. The candidate must be able to

    independently analyse subscriber, revenue, content and marketing data and

    translate insights into clear commercial actions.

    growth/marketing leader, not a pure Business Development or Partnerships

    professional.
