UX Designer - Research-Led (IGT1)
Job description
About the role
We're looking for a UX Designer who thrives on understanding people. You're at your best when talking to users, uncovering their needs, and translating those insights into better products. Research isn't just part of your process, it's what drives your decisions.
In this role, you'll lead the research side of our design practice, from planning studies and running usability tests to uncovering insights that directly influence our product direction. You'll also help shape how AI can enhance research by making it faster, more scalable, and more effective, while ensuring that human judgment remains at the center of every decision.
Key Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Lead user research activities, including interviews, contextual inquiries, field studies, and usability testing (moderated and unmoderated).
- Design and execute research plans that answer real product questions, from participant recruitment and study design to scripts, tasks, and analysis.
- Turn qualitative and quantitative findings into clear insights, customer journeys, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
- Validate concepts, designs, and prototypes early and frequently, then measure success through post-release research.
- Leverage AI throughout the research process, including transcription, tagging, clustering, synthesis, interview preparation, and test design, while critically evaluating outputs and safeguarding participant privacy.
- Build and maintain a scalable research practice through templates, research repositories, standards, and shared ways of working.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and designers in an agile environment, ensuring the voice of the user is represented in product decisions, refinements, and roadmap discussions.
- Advocate for evidence-based decision making and help foster a culture of continuous learning and user-centered design.
- 3+ years of experience in UX Research, or UX Design with a strong research focus.
- A bachelor’s in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Design Research, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Strong expertise across a variety of research methods and the ability to choose the right approach for the problem at hand.
- Proven ability to transform complex and sometimes ambiguous user feedback into compelling insights and clear recommendations.
- Practical experience using AI tools to support research workflows, combined with a healthy skepticism and understanding of their limitations.
- Solid understanding of research ethics, informed consent, accessibility, and data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
- Strong prototyping and design skills, with experience using tools such as Figma to explore, test, and validate ideas.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, enabling you to influence stakeholders across disciplines.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
We champion flexibility and hybrid work options to support varying lifestyles and personal needs. At the same time, we value the power of in-person collaboration to build community, spark innovation, and strengthen connections. Our approach ensures you can work in ways that suit you best while still engaging with colleagues to share ideas and grow together. #LI-Hybrid #LI-DNP
