Nutrition and Food Science (NFS) Kitchen Assistant (East Coast Rd, 1 Year)

Contract Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, including a 1-hour lunch break
• No work on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and MOE/school holidays
• No work during these school holiday periods, unless the school asks. Any extra hours worked will be paid pro-rated at the monthly rate:2 June to 23 June 2027, and 1 November to 28 December 20271 June to 22 June 2028, and 30 October to 27 December 2028

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredient trays for NFS practical lessons and practical exams
• Keep the two NFS kitchens clean: sweep, mop, help clean cookers, tables and sinks that students have not cleaned properly, and clear waste bins
• Help order food, kitchen equipment and cleaning materials and equipment
• Keep track of ingredient stock and expiry dates
• Clean the refrigerator once in June and once in October
• Wash and fold kitchen towels and aprons (washing machine and dryer available)
• Contact the Operations Manager to report defects in Kitchens 1 and 2
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal, Head of Department, Operations Manager or Administration Manager

Job Requirements

• Preferably one year of experience as an FCE Kitchen Assistant in a secondary school
