🔄 Option to Renew: 2028

📌 Service Duration: 10 months per year

🕐 Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, inclusive of 1-hour lunch break

🎯 Job Summary

Bukit View Secondary School is seeking a STEM Programme Support Officer to support the implementation of the JOULES (Junior Outstanding Leaders in Energy for Sustainability) programme and the school's Applied Learning Programme (ALP) Makerspace.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

⚡ JOULES Smart Centre

  • Prepare and set up equipment and devices for JOULES lessons, including:Micro:bitSimple electric circuitsSensorsSolar panelsM5GO and other peripherals
  • Manage bookings of the JOULES Smart Centre.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks, maintenance and stocktaking.
  • Support the daily operations of the JOULES Smart Centre.
  • Assist teachers, trainers and students during STEM lessons and activities.
  • Attend relevant STEM training, workshops and professional development sessions with teachers.
  • Conduct student workshops or training where required.
  • Create and maintain equipment inventories and checklists, with termly updates.
  • Record damaged, missing or broken equipment.
  • Ensure equipment and devices are properly kept after lessons.
  • Support the ALP Committee in procuring equipment and materials.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the JOULES Smart Centre.

🛠️ ALP Makerspace

  • Support the ALP Committee in developing a Maker Culture within the school.
  • Supervise students in the safe and proper use of the Makerspace.
  • Support procedures relating to Makerspace safety, security, training and access.
  • Assist with management of Makerspace budgets and resources, including equipment, software and materials.
  • Support the layout, installation and operation of equipment such as:3D PrintersLaser CuttersVirtual Reality systems
  • Assist with the safety and maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Work with the STEM Programme Committee to support Makerspace curriculum and programmes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the Makerspace.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Polytechnic Diploma, preferably in a STEM-related discipline.
  • 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Candidates without a diploma but with relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of processes, machines, fabrication techniques and materials in a prototyping or manufacturing environment would be useful.

📅 Service Schedule

Services are not required for a total of 8 weeks each year:

  • 2 weeks during June school holidays
  • 6 weeks during November–December school holidays

The daily start time may change according to the semester timetable, but the number of working hours per day remains fixed.

🚫 No service required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
