Purpose of the Role

The Front of House Manager plays a vital role in shaping the daily family experience at N Family School. This role leads the front-of-house function, ensuring the school feels warm, welcoming, organized, and calm for children, families, and team members.

By combining exceptional service, strong systems, and thoughtful people leadership, the Front of House Manager supports smooth school operations and helps ensure families feel confident, connected, and cared for from their very first interaction.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Family Experience & Front-of-House Leadership
  • Serve as the face of the school, welcoming children and families each day
  • Act as the first point of contact for families via phone, email, and in person
  • Lead the Go Beyond family experience, ensuring shared spaces and welcome areas are consistently well-presented
  • Manage family communications, including inboxes, surveys, session changes, tours, and day-to-day queries
  • Support new child onboarding and settling-in processes, ensuring families feel informed and supported
School Operations & Systems
  • Oversee front-of-house operational systems, including enrollment tracking, invoicing support, procurement coordination, and scheduling administration
  • Track occupancy, waitlists, notices, and family plan changes, escalating risks or trends to the School Manager
  • Support admissions and local marketing activity, including newsletters and school communications
  • Work closely with event leads to plan and deliver school events and family experiences
  • Liaise with facilities and maintenance partners to ensure the school remains safe, compliant, and well-maintained

People Leadership & Team Support

  • Line manages the School Operations team, including kitchen and cleaning team members
  • Set daily priorities, delegate tasks, and monitor performance across front-of-house operations
  • Support onboarding, training, and professional development within the operations team
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture aligned with N Family values

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure completion and follow-through of all required health and safety checks
  • Promote a culture of behavioral safety and proactive risk management
  • Support classroom coverage as needed to maintain ratios and care standards
  • Always follow Health & Safety policies, safeguarding procedures, and state licensing requirements
General Responsibilities
  • Work a flexible schedule aligned with school operating hours, typically between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with availability for occasional evenings or events
  • Use digital systems confidently, including Google Workspace and school management platforms
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the school and wider organization

Experience

  • Experience in a customer-facing, school operations, hospitality, or service-led role
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with operational systems such as scheduling, procurement, or enrollment tracking
  • Confidence using digital tools and communication platforms
Qualifications
  • Meets all applicable state licensing requirements for employment in a licensed early childhood setting
  • Postsecondary education preferred; equivalent professional experience considered
  • Coursework or experience in Early Childhood Education is a plus
  • Successful completion of all required background checks and clearances
  • Must meet all state health screening and immunization requirements, including tuberculosis screening, as required by licensing authorities

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role directly manages the School Operations team, including kitchen and cleaning team members, and supports performance management, task delegation, and team development.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role involves regular standing, walking, and movement throughout the school day, as well as routine use of computers, phones, and digital systems. The Front of House Manager works in a licensed early childhood setting and may have moderate exposure to noise and childhood illnesses.
