Conveyors & Equipment is seeking an Accounting Assistant with a focus on Customer Billing and Cost Accounting. We supply, design and service conveyors, belting and material handling equipment. For 50+ years we have served local industries including food processing, manufacturing, distribution, printing, recycling, and mining.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The focus of this position is generating customer invoices and credits, and capturing all costs associated with those. This position works closely with all departments to gather information for accurate processing. This position assists and supports the accounting department in a variety of areas and will be crossed trained in other positions and responsibilities within the department. The ideal candidate would be willing to help wherever needed and grow in the department.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Prior experience with invoicing and cost accounting (Job costing) is a plus.
- Understanding and experience in the proper use of the Chart of Accounts.
- Understanding and experience with Debits and Credits and their effect on the financials.
- Understanding and experience with sales orders, purchase orders, payment terms, invoicing, credit memos, freight terms and their purpose, use, and their effect on the financials is needed.
- Sales Tax understanding and coding on invoices for multiple jurisdictions is needed.
- Understanding the paperwork flow in business.
- Understanding and experience in basic accounting processes.
- Basic computer skills, emails, spreadsheets, company software, etc.
- Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. A significant amount of communication is via email.
- Organized, detailed, and focused. Focus on the importance of accuracy.
- Reliability is very important. Accounting comes with certain deadlines that must be met.
- This position takes a great deal of thinking things through, researching, and understanding how coding affects the financials, gross profit, commissions, and customers. This is not a quick high volume data entry position. We are not looking for a data entry clerk. Thorough analysis and accuracy are of the upmost importance.
- General Ledger account reconciliation. Journal Entries when needed.
- Assist and support customers in a professional manner with questions on their account.
- Patient, considerate and kind communication with customers and co-workers.
- Teachable with a positive pleasant personality.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay is Open and negotiable depending upon experience.
$18 - $28 hr.

Monday thru Friday 8 – 5, Full-Time
