Purpose:
To assist the Mason and Menard County CASA Coordinator in speaking in the best interest of abused and neglected children in the court system.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Pass all background checks
- Have a valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Skills in the following areas: decision-making, creativity, initiative, innovation, leadership, foresight, willingness to increase responsibilities to achieve program goals and commitment to agency goals
Job Duties:
Under the direction of the CASA Manager,
- Maintain regular ongoing contact with parties in cases
- Observe children in a variety of environments including schools and daycares
- Write reports for court hearings that will give an adequate description of the child, their environment,concerns, and recommendations
- Attend court hearings and meetings associated with CASA cases
- Monitor service plans and court orders to determine if progress is being made in the case
- Maintain records of all CASA cases
- Attend in-service trainings and education programs
- Assist with public relations
- Other duties as assigned
