Job Overview of HR Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources - Onboarding Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing our onboarding process, ensuring compliance with employment labor laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support our company.
Duties of HR Specialist
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement effective talent management strategies.
- Onboarding and offboarding both union and non-union employees
- Scheduling onboarding days/times
- Conduct orientations for new employees
- Exit interviews
- Monthly turnover reporting
- Track promotions
- Background testing
- Drug testing (clinic)
- Run Motor Vehicle Reports
- Become an expert user of our HRHQ (employee tracking) software
Qualifications of HR Specialist:
- Some experience in human resources, with demonstrated knowledge of HR practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- A degree in Human Resources and/or HR certification(s) is strongly preferred.
