General Function
The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.
Description of Primary Duties
The instructor’s teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as a faculty advisor to a student organization and/or a student team for competitions. The standard teaching load is 12 hours per semester (4 courses). The successful candidate will teach in the following areas: Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations Management. May be asked to teach MKT courses such as Operations Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy, Global Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Management and Sustainability, and Principles of Marketing, among others, as needed. Course modalities would include seated or online, among others such as blended or cross-listed. It is also expected to provide service to the Department of Marketing, College of Business, Missouri State University, and the local/regional community and the profession.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required.
Additional Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science (MS) degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations Management or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution. Demonstrated college teaching experience and experience with college students and student organizations are preferred. In addition to teaching experience, relevant industry experience is also preferred. The ability to work with and develop working relationships with colleagues and students is a must.
